I did it when I played my Sims 2 physic edition about 7 years ago and it worked, thats cause I know what should appear. Hello I have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection downloaded from Origin, I created the folder “Downloads” in the “The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection” folder, I pasted every “.package” files I’ve been downloaded and select “yes” in the custom content option into the game options, but when I start the game the content doesn’t appear, the screen that should pop up when the game is loading doesn’t appear either (the screen that shows your custom content inside the game to active it or disable it). You just have to dig it out of the program files and create a desktop shortcut.C:Program Files (x86)Origin GamesThe Sims 2 Ultimate CollectionFun with PetsSP9CSBinif you follow that route, you’ll find it right there! (You might need to go through Program Files instead of Program Files(x86))Once you find it, I’d suggest creating a shortcut (if you dont know how to do that, right click the file, then Send To - Desktop)Kinda annoying that you have to dig it out, because I remember that it wasn’t that hard when you had the physical copies, but whatever. So whenever I click on a mod file, it reads like it’s the update patch filePut the Downloads folder with all of my mods in the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection folder in my Documents and it’s not workingRead through the comments and not sure what you mean by run the sims 2 launcher to install the mods. Not sure how to proceed here. Sorry but I’m at a total loss here. This may be part of the problem but I somehow made all of my CC or mod files turn into a sims 2 update patch file. You have to install those through the launcher as Sims2Pack files. If you prefer to only use package files (it’s easier to remove a package file from your downloads folder than it is to uninstall a Sims2Pack file via the launcher) you can use Clean Installer to extract the package files from your Sims2Pack files: Keep in mind that you can’t convert Sims2Pack files of lots or Sims to package files. It’s safe to run the app because it’s just asking to run The Sims 2 launcher to install them. Sims2Pack files need to be installed via the launcher.
